robot 2-04Illustration jobs just seem to keep coming my way! It’s awfully nice to be able to draw something for a change.

Just finished a first rough of a robot for JAC in Newfoundland for their HPX display. We’ll see how it goes. Their concept is pretty work intensive. I like the illustration so far though. He went through a couple of versions before he was simple enough to render with a halftone screen. I taught myself how to do it. You create your shape, then convert your solid colours to a greyscale gradient, use Effect/Pixelate/Color Halftone and fiddle with the size until it looks right. Then cut the new half toned gradient and paste it in place as an opacity mask.
