If you want only the effects applied to the layer and want the layer to be transparent, you can turn the “Fill” of the layer to 0% (not the opacity). This way all your blending options stay, but the layer is transparent.


Multiple background images. Just place a comma between the two backgrounds. You can add colour too.
background: url(sheep.png) center bottom no-repeat, url(betweengrassandsky.png) left top no-repeat;

nth-child or nth-of-type allows you to effect content count in varying stepped ways.
.something:nth-child(3n+0) would start counting at zero and effect the third object with the class .something.
I ended up using: div.subsequent-entry:nth-of-type(3n+1)
