I wrote my very first wee little PHP script AND IT WORKED. All I needed it to do was test to see what category page the user was on and then give that info to a variable so wordpress would output the correct stuff. YAY!
Devo helped with some basic stuff I had wrong…again and I started looking at some very basic tutorials on PHP. They help. I’ll do more of it as time allows.
The big news is I’ve realized that pretty much everything I’m doing on the Los Primos site is just way over the heads of my students. There, undoubtedly will be a couple each year who want to get their hands dirty but this stuff is just too much. I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing. I just need to keep it in mind when I’m making lesson plans later.
I believe Los Primos is close. I really should stick it up on a server so I can get Devo to trash it but I want it a little closer first.
I need the damn menu working and for some reason half the posts are unwilling to show up. Gonna try reentering them. I know that sounds rudimentary but I’ve had problems before that something as easy as that fixed. One of the problems was me using the same name for categories and pages and posts. Must remember NOT to do that.
